Hi, I’m Tom Summerscales.
Born in Derby, I now live in Edinburgh by way of several years in Manchester. I had a high flying corporate career before pursuing my lifelong passion as a fitness and nutrition coach. I grew up in a household full of healthcare professionals. I’m married to a doctor too.
As an athlete I’ve competed across a broad range of sports and events, even jumping in the MMA cage for a few rounds!
Here’s a few of my fitness milestones:
Ironman Finisher (Swim 2.4 miles, Cycle 112 miles, Run 26.2 miles)
Driathlon UK Finalist
Top 10 finisher CHP hybrid Competition
CHP Hybrid Masters
I’m also a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and have a BSc Hons in Applied Sport Science from the University of Edinburgh.
Level 3 Personal Trainer too.
I surf as often as I can around Scotland.
Rugby was my sport growing up.
I’ve also tried kickboxing, judo, MMA, American Football.
I’m planning on trying some ultra running in 2025 and beyond as well as doing more charity fitness challenges.
My last challenge was the Sufferfest’s Knight of Sufferlandria, raising money for a mix of charities.
My Approach is directly centred on your personal goals and lifestyle parameters. We establish what’s possible, what’s not and practically move forward to achieve your fitness, nutrition and health goals together.
My super power is that I understand.
Most trainers don’t have the unique vantage point that I do - being immersed in the lives of healthcare, tech and corporate professionals throughout my entire life. I understand deeply the impact not just on you but those you care for. More importantly, I know how support you reaching your goals whilst managing work and everything else that life throws at you.
